Created by the United States National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE is an authoritative bibliographic database providing the primary abstracting and indexing service for the medical sciences. It indexes over 4,800 periodicals and includes citations from 1950 onwards. It has subject headings that help users effectively search and retrieve information and follow the structure of the Medical Subject headings (MeSH) used by the National Library of Medicine.
